Meet our Paralegal team

Here we introduce you to the rest of our team who support our attorneys.

Catherine Maas: Receptionist

Catherine is the first person you will see when you visit our office, and she is the friendly voice answering our office phone when you call. Catherine has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a Minor in Psychology from the College of Mount Saint Vincent where she was on the Dean’s List.

In her free time, Catherine likes to hike with her dog, Rocky. She also loves to cook and spend time reading.

Nancy Marrero: Paralegal

Nancy has been a Paralegal for 19 years and has been with Rome Clifford Katz & Koerner, LLP, since 2007. Nancy is fluent in Spanish and has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Hartford. Nancy also holds an ABA Legal Assistant certification from Hartford College for Women. Nancy loves coffee, cooking and yoga and is an advocate for the American Alzheimer’s Association.

Connie Reece: Paralegal

Connie Reese has recently joined the firm. She brings to the firm her thirteen years’ of paralegal experience with mergers and acquisitions, and corporate law.  Connie graduated with bachelor degree in business with advanced legal studies from Our Lady of the Elms College. Connie also has a background in management and real estate brokerage.


Cassandra Solis: Paralegal

Cassie assists with all aspects of the firm’s transactional law practice, including commercial, residential, and multi-family acquisition and sale transactions, and commercial loan and other real estate financing matters. She assists with all aspects of a transaction, including the preparation of purchase agreements, real estate conveyance documents, due diligence review, and organizing and assisting with closings. She also assists with estate planning, probate and corporate transactions.

Cassie received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Central Connecticut State University and her Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Connecticut.

In her spare time, Cassie enjoys watching and playing tennis, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.

Jonathan Cruz: Office Messenger

Jonathan has been an office messenger at Rome Clifford Katz & Koerner, LLP, for three years. Prior to working with us, he worked as a legal assistant. Jonathan loves spending time with his daughter and going to the sporting events, especially the Hartford Yardgoats baseball games!

Janice Lewis-Roof: Legal Secretary

Janice has been working with Attorney Katz and Attorney Rome, since 2001 and joined them when they merged into Rome Clifford Katz & Koerner, LLP, in 2006. Janice assists with personal injury, workers’ compensation and real estate cases and helps clients with questions concerning their files.

Kim Scalora: Paralegal

Kim Scalora received a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Eastern Connecticut State University. She started working as Attorney Clifford’s paralegal in June 1994 and has been with Rome Clifford Katz & Koerner, LLP since it formed in 2007.

Steven Wight: Office Manager

Steven has been working at the Law Offices of Rome Clifford Katz & Koerner, LLP, for over 11years. He joined the firm in 2006 bringing with him experience in Accounting, Office Management, Human Resources and Information Systems.  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, and an Associates of Science degree in Business Administration.

Steven assists in the development and implementation of the Firm’s policies and procedures; manages and oversees the administration of Human Resources programs and practices; and also maintains the Firm’s accounting records, accounts receivables and payables, monthly billings, and payroll.

Mary Leone: Assistant to Office Manager

Mary is the assistant to the office manager. Mary has extensive administrative experience and can put anyone at ease with her friendly voice. Mary lives in Bristol with her husband, Kevin. Mary enjoys spending time with her family and traveling; especially to Maine.

Margaret Heeran, Paralegal

Margaret Heeran is an ABA certified paralegal at Rome Clifford Katz and Koerner. She assists Attorney Rome in personal injury, workers’ compensation, and high asset divorce and custody cases. She is known for being highly engaged, motivated and enthusiastic. Margaret began her career as a legal assistant at a small personal injury law firm in New Haven. As a legal studies major, Margaret graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Quinnipiac University. During this time, Margaret developed a passion for the legal field when she joined the Mock Trial Association. Outside of the firm, Margaret enjoys reading a good book, competing in Irish Step Dancing competitions and doing yoga.
