Rome Clifford Katz & Koerner Personal Injury Partner Chris Sica has won a Distinguished Leaders award in the 2025 New England Legal Awards administered by Law.com, the media platform that publishes the Connecticut Law Journal.

The New England Legal Awards celebrate professional excellence in the legal communities across Connecticut, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

“It’s quite an honor to win this Distinguished Leaders award, especially given the impressive caliber of the other honorees, many of whom come from 100-plus person firms with a national presence,” Attorney Sica said. “I think this proves we get tremendous results, on par with the top injury law firms, without relying on billboards or flashy TV ads.”

Attorney Sica and other honorees will be celebrated at an Oct. 23 gala and awards dinner at The Westin Copley Place in Boston.

He was nominated by Partner Alan Rome, and the nomination said in part:

  • Since joining the firm in May 2018, Attorney Sica has recovered more than $30 million for clients, with nearly $13 million coming in the past 18 months as his reputation for success attracts new clients in injury, medical malpractice, and workers’ compensation cases – with recent results like $567,000 in a medical malpractice case stemming from urgent care negligence, resulting in a partial finger amputation, and $500,000 for a woman who suffered a significant arm fracture and neck and back injuries.
  • Given [his] success, perhaps most impressive is his highly engaged approach with injury clients, his compassion, ability to truly connect, and his commitment to achieving the best outcome – no matter the dollar amount.
  • A recent case involved a gentleman in a car accident who had been advised by an attorney from another firm to take a $60,000 settlement. Attorney Sica worked up his case for more than a year and resolved it for $250,000.
  • An $875,000 settlement for a client in a motorcycle accident case, meanwhile, started with a low six-figure offer from an insurance company. After getting to know the client – a passenger on a motorcycle hit by a minivan, damaging her elbow – Attorney Sica felt the case had substantially more value and leveraged the insurer into a settlement approaching the $1 million mark on the eve of trial.

Attorney Sica also won a 2023 New Leaders in the Law Award as part of the first-ever New England Legal Awards, and Attorney Rome won a Distinguished Leaders award in the 2024 New England Legal Awards.

In addition to those awards, Attorneys Sica and Rome were honored on the 2024 Super Lawyers list for their Personal Injury work, as was injury law team member Attorney Joe Serrantino.

Attorney Sica and Attorney Serrantino were named Rising Stars for a seventh consecutive year, and Attorney Rome was honored for a sixth consecutive year. The 2025 list will be published this fall.
