Super Lawyers 2023, Rome Clifford Katz & Koerner Partners Alan Rome and Chris SicaRome Clifford Katz & Koerner Partner Alan Rome has won a Distinguished Leader award in the 2024 New England Legal Awards.

The Connecticut Law Tribune (CLT) announced the 2024 winners online July 24, as well as finalists in certain categories in which the winner will be announced at an awards dinner on Sept. 26 at the Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston.

Winners whose names have been announced, including Attorney Rome, will be recognized at the dinner.

“We focus on achieving the best possible outcomes for all of our clients for all types of legal matters including Personal Injury. We also have a great team of lawyers in our firm. Rather than  seeking accolades, I’m grateful my colleagues took the time to nominate me,” Attorney Rome said. “It’s an honor and a privilege to win this award and be named a Distinguished Leader among attorneys across New England.”

The Distinguished Leader award recognizes lawyers who achieved impressive career results and demonstrated clear leadership skills that helped them achieve those results. The nomination for Attorney Rome said, in part:

Earlier this year, Rome Clifford Katz & Koerner Personal Injury and Workers’ Compensation Partner Alan Rome secured a $3.389 million settlement in a Workers’ Comp case for a client seriously injured in a work-related accident. Not only was it a long and complex case but it involved a disputed claim. The Connecticut Workers’ Compensation Commission noted that “the results, if fully prosecuted, would be doubtful.”

The case is emblematic for Attorney Rome, who achieves outcomes that impress clients while often working against the odds, prompting Google reviews like this one from May: “Attorney Rome fought incredibly hard for me and I’m satisfied with the outcome. … . I would highly recommend this firm for personal injury and motor vehicle cases.”

A short list of examples among recent results include these:

  • $1.45 million recovery in a legal malpractice case.
  • $345,000 recovery in a sole proximate cause case involving a sidewalk fall
  • $300,000 in a motorcycle crash case with a major issue of liability.

New England Legal Awards honorees are selected by Law.com and Connecticut Law Tribune’s editors and reporters, with an external judging panel for the New Leaders in the Law category, according to the CLT.

Rome Clifford Katz & Koerner Personal Injury Partner Chris Sica won a 2023 New Leaders in the Law Award, presented to highly accomplished attorneys who are younger than 40.
